one of my favorite bits i do just for myself is walking into my room and seeing one of my pet spiders, whom i adore and spent more than a little money acquiring and deliberately placing into my room in beautiful little enclosures, and going "EEK! A SPIDER! HOW DID IT GET HERE? OH NO, A SPIDER, OH NO" like i am an arachnophobe who has just encountered an unexpected eight-legged beast.
and then i have a little giggle about it because those are just my critters. they're my baby guys. the spiders are in my house because i asked them to be here and i love them, so of course it would be very silly for me to be startled or afraid of them. which is why this bit gets me every single time i do it
